Big congrats to junior Moxie Hill! Out of 250 entries, Moxie was named one of just 10 winners at the annual St. Louis Wednesday Club Junior Poetry Competition! She received an Honorable Mention for her heartfelt poem “Cottontail,” inspired by her beloved rabbit stuffy.
The judge, acclaimed author George Bilgere, praised her work, saying it “evokes a nearly universal human memory… bringing back the happiest memories of childhood with a sudden, delirious rush.”
Moxie read her poem aloud to an audience of family, friends, and fellow poetry lovers before being celebrated with a tea luncheon and lots of love (and stories!) from others about their cherished childhood stuffies.
We’re so proud of Moxie and her incredible creativity! #VPPride
