This school year, Valley Park educators are diving into professional learning pathways designed to strengthen collaboration, sharpen instructional practices and prepare for future curriculum work. Each pathway provides teachers and staff with opportunities to connect, reflect and grow in ways that directly impact student learning.
Leading Powerful PLCs: This pathway focuses on making Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) more purposeful and productive. Participants will explore strategies for collaboration, data monitoring and the four essential PLC questions (1. What do we want all students to learn? 2. How will we know if they learn it? 3. What will we do if they don't learn it? 4. What will we do if they already know it?.) with an emphasis on time management and efficiency.
Creating the Assessment Capable Learner: LLC 2.0: This pathway builds on experiences from the Limitless Learning cohorts. The goal is helping students become assessment capable learners who know what they’re learning, how they’re progressing, and what steps to take next. Key topics include student agency, clarity, co-constructing success criteria, and aligning assessments with standards.
Building Our Instructional Toolkit: This pathway highlights research-based strategies that spark engagement and deepen learning. Teachers will connect insights from past PD, Limitless Learning cohorts, and curriculum development to strengthen instructional delivery, teacher clarity, feedback, and goal-setting.
Curriculum Research Year: This pathway is a year-long process of research and reflection to prepare for future curriculum writing. Educators will study best practices, review standards, conduct site visits and gather input from students and the community to inform program growth and refinement.
