🏃♀️💖 We did it! Valley Park’s Girls on the Run team crushed their 5K at Ballpark Village, joining thousands from across St. Louis! Huge thanks to our amazing coaches, volunteers, and running buddies who made it all possible. Our girls also gave back by writing heartfelt thank-you notes to Second Chance Ranch, supporting senior dogs in need. Way to run with heart, Hawks! 💙🧡 #VPPride

Valley Park cozied up for a cause! Before the end of the school year, our schools held a PJ Day fundraiser and raised nearly $480 to "adopt" three amazing raptors from the World Bird Sanctuary: VPES – Puck the Red-tailed Hawk - VPMS – Gambit the Red-shouldered Hawk - VPHS – Blue the Harris’s Hawk. Huge thanks to everyone who participated and to Dr. Sencibaugh and Mrs. Louder for helping make it happen! Our feathered friends are well-fed thanks to you! 💙🧡 #VPPride

June 19 is Freedom Day also known as Juneteenth. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. This holiday is considered the longest-running African-American holiday and has been called America's second Independence Day. It was on June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers, led by Union General Gordon Arrived in Galveston, Texas to inform the enslaved African Americans of their freedom. In 2021, Juneteenth officially became a federal holiday.
